Lavender Essential Oil
The many uses of Lavender essential oil in prepping

Lavish in lavender if you're a prepper!
Lavender has a mesmerizing aroma for humans, but the same
fresh scent will make the bugs skedaddle and so much more.

Attracting humans and repelling bugs is just the start. Lavender
has infinite uses for preppers. Among the highlights of lavender
essential oil is that it can help heal wounds, kill staph infections,
and treat parasitic infections, burns, insect bites, and spasms.
Yes, lavender is scientifically proven to do all that and much more.

Below are some of the many ways to use lavender essential oils
in prepping...

How to prep with lavender essential oil...
Here's why you'll want to lavish in the healing powers of lavender
essential oils:

Lavender use #1: Sedative (anxiolytic).
The most widely known use of lavender essential oil is as a
sedative to reduce anxiety. Lavender is well known for its ability
to sedate, induce relaxation and promote sleep, but as an
anxiolytic, a natural drug used to reduce anxiety, lavender is also
effective. (You'll sleep better with lavender because lavender acts
as a sedative, but you also won't feel as tense ~ see #11 and
you'll find it will help you with insomnia.)

  • HOW TO USE LAVENDER TO REDUCE ANXIETY. There are
several ways to use lavender to reduce anxiety:

  • An aromatic sachet of lavender or a dab of lavender
essential oil will help provide a relaxed state for
preppers who are highly stressed in uncertain times.

  • Another common way to use lavender is to make an eye
wrap with using lavender flower wrapped in a soft
material as an eye mask. The pressure of the dried
leaves combined with a silkly cover and amazing scent
    will induce a relaxed state.

As a prepper, you'll want to grab lavender essential oil to help
you relax! Prepping can be stressful in crisis times and that's
when lavender essential oil can help.

Lavender Use #2: Pain reliever (analgesic).
Lavender's calming and soothing properties can get you sleepy,
but many people don't also realize that it's an
analgesic (pain
reliever). You see, it's difficult to be both relaxed and in pain.

Certainly lavender essential oil has a sedating effects that can
relax muscles, release tension headaches, and resolve an
earache. Below are just some of the ways you can use lavender
essential oil for pain relief:

  • HOW TO USE LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL AS AN ANALGESIC:

  • Headaches: Apply lavender essential oil to the temples to
    relieve stress-related headaches.

  • Earaches: Dab a few drops of lavender essential oil to a
cotton ball and plug the ear as you rest. In no time the pain
will dissipate! A scientific abstract on lavender oil
substantiates the claim that the oil has both analgesic and
    anti-flammatory effects.

  • Relief of ticks and other bug bites. The nice thing about
lavender essential oil is that it can help relieve a bug bite,
but lavender has insect repellent qualities as well. Ticks
don't like lavender essential oil and can possibly help you
with Powassan virus, a tick borne disease.

Other essential oils for bug bite relief include chamomile,
eucalyptus, and thyme. Note that thyme and peppermint
essential oil also have insect repellent qualities.

Lavender calms your nervous system, relieves anxiety, eases
headaches, migraines, depression, insomnia and pain!

Lavender Use #3: Heals wounds (antibacterial).
Lavender is active against bacteria to slow down or halt it.
Perhaps it's the anti-inflammatory properties, which reduce
infection and stop the bleeding. Whatever the case, lavender
essential oil is ideal to stop bleeding and begin healing of cuts,
scrapes and wounds. As a natural topical antibiotic, lavender
essential oil prevents, inhibits or destroys microorganisms,
including fungi and parasites, and not just bacteria. Like other
antibiotics, however, lavender has no effect on viruses.

  • HOW TO USE LAVENDER ESSENTIAL FOR WOUNDS. As a topical
antibiotic, blend lavender essential oil with juniper oil using
as the base oil in equal parts. Juniper berry oil produces skin
warmth which may also help ease the discomfort, but it has
no antimicrobial activity on its own. Lavender oil is generally
kid safe, and a good brand is Plant Therapy above right.

Lavender Use #4: Kills Staph infection (antibiotic).
While it's a powerful antibacterial, lavender essential oil goes a
step further as a
natural antibiotic. Lavender has powerful
antibiotic properties to heal wounds and cuts, but a surprising
use if for getting killing a staph infection!

Yes, lavender essential oil can kill staph infections that are
resistant to traditional antibiotics! A staph infection is actually a
group of bacteria that can cause a multitude of diseases.

A study published by the U.S. National Library, National
Institutes of Health finds that lavender essential oil has
anti-
bacterial activity against three strains of staph. Staphylococcus
aureu received notoriety when published by the U.S. National
Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health. The study
demonstrated the potential of essential oils as antibacterial
agents to treat an
MRSA infection as well.

A staph infection is an infection caused by bacteria usually found
as pus, a boil or an abscess on the skin as or in the nose. A
staph infection might also be food poisoning or toxic shock
syndrome, but usually it begins with a cut. Thankfully lavender
essential oil can help when man-made antibiotics wont.

  • HOW TO USE LAVENDER TO KILL A STAPH INFECTION:
Here's more about how to cure a staph infection with
lavender essential oil. Always consult a physician if available
and beware of sepsis! One little cut that gets infected with
bacteria could cause death if you don't know the warning
signs. Antibiotics can be transported through the lymphatic
system to destroy bacteria within the body, whereas an
antiseptic is an antimicrobial substance applied to the skin
    to help prevent infection.

Lavender use #5: Heal Burns (antiseptic, analgesic).
Lavender has both antiseptic and analgesic properties, which will
ease the pain of a burn and prevent infection. It's the
cytophylactic properties of lavender that promote rapid healing
and helps reduce scarring from burns. A cytophylactic substance
increases leucocytes to fight infection and protect the cells of the
organism.

Applied topically lavender oil is effective treatment for burns, skin
rashes and even cold sores! One important caveat on topical use

lavender oil can cause breast growth in young
boys, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services. It's generally safe for everyone else.

a fresh scent. The botanical name, Lavandula, which means "to

skin tissue, whereas disinfectants are applied to surfaces.

  • HOW TO USE LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL FOR SCARS AND
BURNS: Dr. Joseph Mercola suggests using lavender essential
for skin conditions (burns, acne and wounds) by diluting it

published by the U.S. National Library of Medicine National
Institutes of Health, lavender essential oil at a 2%
concentration killed 100% of the C. albicans!  Candida
